{"id":412,"date":"2021-11-16T16:01:43","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T16:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calm-ebsd.com\/?page_id=412"},"modified":"2021-12-10T13:32:13","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T13:32:13","slug":"requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.calm-ebsd.com\/index.php\/news\/requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">System requirements for running the software: <\/span><br><strong>Windows<\/strong> 7 or higher. <br>The software runs on dedicated (discrete) as well as integrated GPUs supporting <strong>OpenGL 3.3<\/strong> or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Requirements for analysing lattice parameters:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>known <strong>projection center<\/strong> PC, or a reference Kikuchi diffraction pattern for its determination, preferably from a cubic phase<\/li><li>the electron energy described by the <strong>applied high voltage<\/strong> HV in kV <br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Please note:<\/em><\/span> <em>a\/b, c\/b, \u03b1, \u03b2, \u03b3 do not change if HV is varied or only estimated. <\/em><\/li><li>a large-angle <strong>Kikuchi<\/strong> diffraction <strong>pattern<\/strong> of highest possible quality, i.e. high signal-to-noise ratio and high image resolution <br><em>This does not mean you cannot use small images, e.g. with 320&#215;230 pixels (see below), but this might reduce accuracy and precision. PC=[0.501, -0.061, 0.801] <br>From 75 bands CALM derives a lattice parameter<sup>1<\/sup> a<sub>CALM<\/sub>=4.78\u00b10.08 \u00c5 and  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">a\/b = 1.002, c\/b = 1.105, \u03b1 = 90.3\u00b0, \u03b2 = 89.9\u00b0, \u03b3 = 120\u00b0,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">instead of the ideal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">a\/b = 1       , c\/b = 1.101, \u03b1 = 90\u00b0,    \u03b2 = 90\u00b0,    \u03b3 = 120\u00b0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">This means, all deviations are below 0.5%, except of <sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><br><em><sup>1<\/sup>a<sub>CALM<\/sub> needs a further correction by the mean atomic number (see Nolze et al.
