CALM provides additional information that helps in finding the correct Bravais lattice type or provides clues about a faulty projection center or image distortions.
These include for example
- indexing of the diffracting lattice planes (hkl) and zone axis [uvw]
- reciprocal lattice projection along any [uvw] or [hkl]*
- angle measurement between zone axes [uvw]i or lattice planes (hkl)i
- band profile extraction from experimental band (and theoretical if the digital twin is available)
- visualization of the effective size of the captured sector
- final MAD (mean angular deviation) between experimentally derived and geometrically predicted band positions
- visual indication of Bragg angle deviations
- projection center determination and refinement (for known phases)
- identification of false bands from other grains (overlaid pattern)
- locally systematic deviations in the band centers and widths
